Tax Partner Bella Wang has been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal (LABJ) as one of the “2022 Leaders of Influence: Minority CPAs” and is featured in their May 9 issue. Nominees were selected based on their professional achievements, community leadership, and notable accomplishments during the past 12-18 months.
Bella Wang joined Windes in 2000 and is currently a director in the firm’s Tax Department. Because of her dedication to the firm and outstanding performance, she has been promoted to partner, effective July 1, 2022.
Bella’s professional experience includes tax planning and consulting for businesses of all sizes, as well as corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. She works closely with business owners and investors, specializing in international tax considerations, planning, and compliance on inbound and outbound transactions. Her international tax expertise has helped businesses and investors develop tax strategies to minimize their global taxes.
As the practice leader for many of the firm’s strategic planning and incentive program services, Bella championed the formalization and development of the firm’s Paycheck Protection Program Forgiveness and Employee Retention Credit services within the tax department to effectively and efficiently service businesses and nonprofit organizations impacted by COVID-19. She has helped many clients secure various tax credits, such as the Research and Development, Work Opportunity, and California Competes Tax Credits. She is also a member of the firm’s Tax Technical Committee and organizes and instructs many of the department’s internal training sessions concerning new tax law changes.
A routine speaker at various trade association and networking group meetings, Bella has presented numerous webinars for Windes, as well as for other professional organizations. Her technical presentations focus on new tax legislation, including potential changes to international tax provisions such as Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income, FATCA compliance, foreign activities reporting, federal and state tax credits, and Opportunity Zone incentives.
Community Involvement
Bella is an active Board member of the Asian Pacific Certified Public Accountants Association, a local business network for professionals and small businesses. She works closely with new immigrants and foreign business investors to help them understand U.S. tax laws.
Her speaking engagements for various Chinese American associations, such as Community Economic Development China Service Center, Charming China, and Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment Los Angeles, have provided tax guidance to members of the Asian American community in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
Bella supports various charitable and community organizations close to her heart, such as the Tzu-Chi Foundation, an international humanitarian organization whose mission is to relieve the suffering of those in need in the U.S and internationally.
Bella is a role model who provides guidance and inspiration for aspiring minority students and professionals. Her proven leadership in the firm’s tax department and the community demonstrates her commitment to helping others understand our complicated tax system.
