For its annual Windes Gives Back Day, the firm supported RAD Camp’s closing ceremony. RAD stands for Rising Above Disabilities and is powered by a passionate, strong volunteer community that offers summer camp programs for kids and adults with developmental disabilities. On the last day of camp, a fun, celebratory ceremony was held with music, awards, a food truck, and games.
Over 100 Windes employees showed up bright and early at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, where the three-day kids’ camp was held. Our energetic team helped enhance the day’s closing festivities by staffing various game stations, such as blow-up basketball, blow-up ski ball, corn hole, jumbo Connect 4, coloring activities, and a ‘cake’ walk. Our employee volunteers encouraged campers to play games and cheered them on. Windes hosted a prize table where campers could choose from various prizes, regardless of their performance.
Remote employees were also encouraged to volunteer at local organizations or participate in activities that serve their communities. We received photos from 21 remote employees who took part in a variety of activities, including environmental cleanups, supporting schools, assisting at food banks and community kitchens, helping at animal shelters, providing aid at hospice care centers, tending to community gardens, and volunteering at libraries.
“Our team’s enthusiasm and dedication to making a positive impact in our community is so impressive and truly reflects the core values of our firm,” says Managing Partner Sean McFerson. “By coming together to serve others, we not only strengthen our community but also foster a culture of compassion and teamwork within our organization. I am incredibly proud of our employees for their tremendous turnout, hard work, and generosity.”
Staying true to its core value of “Serve Our Communities,” Windes partners and professionals serve at various levels in more than 50 nonprofit organizations locally and nationally. The Orange County Business Journal has acknowledged the firm as a “Company that Cares,” OneOC, and Points of Light have also recognized Windes as one of the “Civic 50 Orange County,” an awards program showcasing superior corporate citizenship.
