Windes selects 15 students to participate in its annual Summer Leadership Conference, a two-day event full of activities designed to provide important leadership and professional skills to some of the best and brightest future leaders in the accounting and finance industries. Applicants should be interested in a career in public accounting and studying accounting, finance, data analytics and/or business.
Participants are invited to spend two days at Windes where they interact with many of the firm’s Professionals, are exposed to some excellent leadership tools, participate in several leadership and teambuilding activities, and relax at a fun social event with a number of Windes professionals.

Our Firm’s summer internship provides students with exposure to both the Tax department and the Audit & Assurance Services Department with one-half of the student’s time being spent in each department. The internship lasts approximately 7 weeks during the months of July and August during which interns get the opportunity to work alongside our staff in preparing tax returns and financial statements for our clients. Interns also have the opportunity to participate in and exposure to areas such as: client service, engagement responsibilities, research, technology, and administration. In addition, interns participate in several of the Firm’s social events and community-service projects.
We also have tax busy season internships available from July through October 15 and January through April 15!
Salary range: $25-$27 per hour plus 1.5 overtime O/T

Responsibilities
As you begin your career as a staff accountant in the audit department, you will become a valuable member on several diverse audit engagement teams serving an array of industries including manufacturing, trade and transportation, not for profits, ERISA, construction and professional service organizations. During a staff person’s first few years, most of their professional focus is on applying the professional skills studied in school, developing technical mastery for their selected discipline, preparing deliverables for clients, and working as a contributing member of a team. Generally speaking, a staff would be assigned tasks within a project or job and assist in basic planning activities for the engagement and complete all assigned fieldwork. You will use state-of-the-art technology, combined with streamlined business processes that will provide you with on-the-job training opportunities for growth. You will collaborate daily as part of a diverse team of professionals, working with multiple clients simultaneously, providing you a wide range of knowledge opportunities in our field.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field
- Strong academic track record
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and work in a collaborative environment
- CPA exam eligibility
- Excellent writing and communication skills
Preferred:
- Relevant work experience or internship
- Salary range: $30-$32 per hour plus 1.5 O/T

We offer a seven- to eight-week summer internship and the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both Audit and Tax. Internships are offered to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing accounting-related degrees and have a minimum 3.3 GPA.
